When therapists and counselors invest deeply in others’ healing, they also deserve spaces of connection, renewal, and growth. The Central Ohio Counseling Association (COCA) offer two powerful initiatives designed just for that: Clinician Connection and Coffee & Consultation.
Clinician Connection: Because Therapists Need Connection Too
This relaxed, after‑hours social series gives clinicians a chance to unwind and build authentic relationships beyond therapy rooms. There’s no agenda, no pressure, just good company over food and drinks. It’s a place to recharge, remind each other—as peers who understand the emotional weight of this work—that we aren’t alone. Events typically run from 6–8 PM at local venues like Yellow Springs Brewery and Ohio Brewing Company, and feel free to come as you are—scrubs, yoga pants, or casual attire.
Coffee & Consultation: A Reflective Space to Grow
Complementing this social space, Coffee & Consultation provides a soft, reflective in-person space built for sharing, learning, and professional development. Hosted by COCA, these sessions invite therapists to sip, connect, and reflect with peers. It’s an opportunity to explore challenges, spark fresh insights, and nurture resilience.
Why These Spaces Matter
1. Balances social & professional support
Clinician Connection lets you build informal camaraderie and mutual encouragement. Coffee & Consultation adds depth: a chance for reflective engagement, mutual brainstorming, and professional nourishment.
2. Low-barrier, inclusive design
Neither gathering requires advanced professional development or performance. Clinician Connection is social—no slides or lectures. Coffee & Consultation is conversational and inclusive, open to any clinician seeking connection and reflection.
3. Tailored for mental health professionals
These spaces recognize the emotional labor of counseling. Clinician Connection focuses on decompressing through human connection. Coffee & Consultation frames peer sharing as both self-care and learning. These gatherings honor that mental health professionals thrive when community, authenticity, and reflection are prioritized.

A Final Thought
Clinician Connection and Coffee & Consultation together offer the ideal blend of social ease and reflective depth. They remind therapists and counselors: compassion work doesn’t have to be isolating. Community is part of the healing journey. Whether unwinding over drinks or reflecting over coffee, clinicians benefit when they slow down, share, and rebuild together.
